Celebrating Life
As Art

Cherish these moments, and they will lead the way to a lifetime of wonder, love and laughter as your family flourishes.

  • Why is it best to photograph newborns in the first 2 weeks?
For this style of newborn photography, it is recommended that babies be under 14 days of age, with the optimum time being between 6 and 10 days. This is because babies are sleepier and easier to settle during this time. Photo sessions held after 14 days can run longer as babies are harder to settle and more alert/awake, so please be prepared for this. Also, babies still curl up beautifully before 12 days so many of the images in baskets or on posing backdrops work best during this time. Babies need to be very relaxed and in a deep sleep to achieve these poses. My priority is the comfort and safety or your baby, so we follow the baby’s lead.
  • Do we need to bring anything?
I should have everything we need in terms of baby wraps, blankets, props etc, but you will need to bring the following: 1 or 2 bottles of milk (expressed/formula). If you are breastfeeding, please be aware that you will probably need to feed more often than at home. 3 or 4 spare nappies, wipes Dummy – helps settle baby into a pose Something special to wear for the session, as well as comfy clothes that can be layered on and off Items of sentimental value, eg. heirloom blanket Preferred snacks
  • What about the safety of the poses?
Your baby’s safety and comfort are of utmost importance. I encourage parents to sit nearby while I am positioning them or snapping away – which often causes them to startle. Not all images are as simple as they appear to be – many are composites to allow for mum or dad’s hands to support their baby. It’s important that baby’s wellbeing is not compromised in order to get a shot. Even during a session with a professional newborn photographer, you are your baby’s number one advocate.
  • Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, I do! Please email me at lynn@lynnroberts.com.au if you would like me to customise a gift certificate to give to a family member or friend. They are an ideal gift for a baby shower, or family milestone.
  • Do you photoshop images?
I have developed my own style of editing using Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance images naturally. I am not a fan of over-editing or changing the appearance of my subjects. Hopefully, my style of editing speaks for itself. I am happy to remove bruises and blemishes – anything that is not typical of your natural appearance, where possible of course.
  • How long will it take to receive our photos?
You will receive an email with a link to a private gallery about 1-3 weeks after your session, depending on how busy I am. If you would like me to rush edit a few images for special occasion, I can certainly do that.
